02 Acceptance of Terms

By using this website or contacting Pelangi through it, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, and accept these terms in full.

If you are submitting an item for service on behalf of another person, you confirm that you have authority to act on their behalf and to accept these terms on their behalf.

03 Service Description

Pelangi offers watch and clock repair and restoration services in Shah Alam, Selangor. The primary services available at the time of publication are:

  • Crown and Stem Replacement — from RM 800
  • Movement Regulation — from RM 1,540
  • Mantel Clock Service — from RM 870

All prices shown are indicative starting points. Actual pricing is confirmed in a written quote following inspection of the timepiece. Services are available to clients in Malaysia. Geographic limitations may apply to postal or courier submissions.

04 Enquiries and Quotes

Submission of the contact form on this website constitutes an expression of interest and does not create a binding service agreement. Pelangi will acknowledge your enquiry and, where appropriate, invite you to bring the timepiece in for inspection.

A written quote will be prepared following inspection. No work will begin until the quote has been accepted by the client in writing or by explicit verbal confirmation.

If inspection reveals that a timepiece requires work beyond the scope of the original quote, Pelangi will contact you to discuss the additional scope and obtain your consent before proceeding.

05 Payment Terms

Payment is due in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) upon completion and collection of the timepiece, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Pelangi accepts payment by cash and bank transfer. Specific payment instructions will be confirmed at the time of collection.

Where significant parts costs are involved, a deposit may be requested prior to sourcing components. This will be communicated clearly before any such parts are ordered.

Timepieces will not be released until full payment has been received. Items left uncollected for more than 60 days after notification of completion may, at Pelangi's discretion and following a further written notice, be subject to storage charges.

06 Timepieces in Our Care

Pelangi takes reasonable care of all timepieces entrusted to it. However, clients should be aware of the following:

  • Older or heavily worn timepieces may reveal additional issues during service that were not apparent at intake. These will be discussed with you before any further action is taken.
  • Period-correct or original components may not always be available. Where substitution is necessary, this will be discussed before proceeding.
  • Clients are encouraged to disclose the full known history of a timepiece at intake, as this assists the watchmaker in planning the appropriate approach.
  • Pelangi maintains appropriate care during handling, but accepts no liability for pre-existing undisclosed damage or conditions that become apparent only during disassembly.

07 Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, design, and layout — is the property of Pelangi or is used with the permission of its respective owners. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use this content for commercial purposes without prior written consent.

You are permitted to view and print pages from this website for personal, non-commercial reference purposes only.

08 User Conduct

When using this website, you agree not to:

  • Submit false or misleading information through the contact form
  • Use the website in any way that may damage, disable, or impair its operation
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its systems
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract content from the website without permission

09 Disclaimers

This website and its content are provided in good faith for informational purposes. Pelangi does not represent that the information on the website is always current, comprehensive, or free from error, and reserves the right to amend it without notice.

The outcome of any service work depends on the condition of the timepiece, availability of parts, and the nature of the fault. While Pelangi applies careful professional judgement, no specific result from any service can be warranted in advance.

10 Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable Malaysian law, Pelangi's liability in connection with any service is limited to the amount paid for that service. Pelangi is not liable for:

  • Loss of use of a timepiece during the service period
  • Indirect, consequential, or incidental losses of any kind
  • Pre-existing damage or conditions not disclosed at intake
  • Force majeure events beyond our reasonable control

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any other matter that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pelangi and its staff from any claims, damages, or costs arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the website, or any false information you have provided.

12 Termination

Either party may withdraw from a service agreement prior to commencement of work. Once work has begun on a timepiece, reasonable costs already incurred may be charged to the client upon withdrawal.

Pelangi reserves the right to decline service at its discretion, including where a timepiece's condition makes service impractical or where the nature of the request falls outside the scope of services offered.

13 Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and any dispute arising from them shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt resolution through direct communication in the first instance. If informal resolution is not achieved within 30 days, either party may pursue the matter through appropriate legal channels.

14 General Provisions

  • Entire agreement — These terms, together with any written service quote accepted by the client, constitute the full agreement between the parties for the subject matter described.
  • Severability — If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
  • Waiver — Failure to enforce any term on one occasion does not constitute a waiver of the right to enforce it in future.
  • Assignment — You may not assign your rights or obligations under these terms without prior written consent from Pelangi.

15 Changes to These Terms

Pelangi may revise these terms from time to time. Changes are effective from the date they are published on this page. Continued use of the website after a revision is published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
