Three Services, Each Done Properly
Crown and stem replacement, movement regulation, and mantel clock service — the full scope of each explained clearly, with published prices.

How Every Service Begins
No piece at Pelangi enters the service process without first being examined by the watchmaker or clock specialist. The purpose of this initial assessment is to understand the actual condition of the movement — not to confirm the client's guess at what is wrong.
After the assessment, the service scope is explained and a price is agreed. If the examination suggests that work beyond the requested service is needed, this is raised with the client before anything is touched. Work then proceeds only on agreed terms.
Examination
Movement or clock is inspected by the appropriate specialist before any service is agreed.
Agreement
Scope, cost, and lead time are discussed and confirmed with the client.
Service
Work is carried out to the agreed scope with appropriate parts and tools.
Verification & Return
Results are measured and confirmed. Clocks run on bench before collection. Service notes provided.
Service 01
Crown & Stem Replacement
The crown and winding stem are among the most handled components on a watch — and among the first to show wear. This service covers the selection and fitting of a replacement crown matched to the original case profile, together with a new stem cut to the correct length for the calibre.
For vintage pieces, the workshop undertakes sourcing of period-correct crowns where feasible. The service includes a brief inspection of the keyless works — the setting mechanism the crown drives — for related wear that might affect function after the replacement. On suitable cases, a water resistance check is performed after the new components are fitted.
Service 02
Movement Regulation
A mechanical or automatic movement that runs consistently fast or slow is typically a regulation problem — the rate at which the balance oscillates needs adjustment. This service brings that rate within accepted tolerances across the positions and temperatures a watch encounters in daily wear.
The work begins with observation on a timing machine, which records the movement's behaviour across positions. The regulator is then adjusted as needed. Where the deviation suggests that the balance or hairspring requires attention, this is done as part of the service — though where that work is significant, the client is consulted before it is undertaken.
Service 03
Mantel Clock Service
Mantel clocks of various calibres — French, German, English and others — are accepted for full service. This covers movement cleaning, bushing of worn pivot holes, replacement of fatigued mainsprings where indicated, and regulation to bring the clock to reliable timekeeping.
The case receives a gentle clean and minor finish attention where needed. After the service, each clock runs on the bench for several days to confirm that the timekeeping is stable before the piece is collected. Older movements that require additional work are discussed with the client before any such work is undertaken.
